Chicken hariyali tikka originated in Northern India (Punjab). In this region Coriander and mint based green chutney (dipping sauce) is very popular. The Indian Hariyali chicken tikka can be made on regular pan, on grill pan, in oven or over barbecue pit. This is a very simple Indian recipe that requires very basic ingredients. Hariyali Chicken Tikka (chicken hariyali kabab) Boneless chicken chunks marinated in a super flavourful and aromatic green spice paste and grilled to perfection.

Preparation time : 15 minutes
Coking time : 10-12 minutes
Marinate : 2- 4 hours

Ingredients:
. 400 gm chicken (boneless)
· 1 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves with stems .
· 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
· 5-6 cloves of garlic .
· 1.5″ piece of fresh ginger
· 1-2 fresh green chili (test according)
· 1/2 black paper powder
· 1 tsp cumin seed .
· 1/2 tsp gram masala powder
· 1 tsp cumins powder
· 1 tsp red chili powder
· 2 tsp lemon juice
· 2 tsp thick yogurt
· 2 tsp oil or butter
· Salt (add to test)
Preparation:
· Clean and wash the chicken pieces.
· Grind all ingredients (coriander leave, garlic, ginger, mint leaves, cumin seeds, green chili, red chili powder, garam masala powder, salt and black paper).
After that add the lemon juice and the yogurt should be enough to create a perfect creamy paste. ( Please note - Do not add water while grinding the ingredients.)
· Mix the chicken with the above pest of ingredients marinate very well and covered it. (put it in a zipper bag if you have) put it in the fridge for at least 3 - 4 hours.
· Now, carefully pierce the skewers through the chicken morsels.
· There should be about 5-6 chicken pieces in each skewer.
· Brush them lightly with oil.
· Cook on the grill/ tandoor for about 7-10 minutes.
· Cook on grill pan for about 10 minutes
Tips: .
· If you are using bamboo BBQ sticks soak them in water for half an hour to prevent them from burning in the heat of the grill but you used iron skew so no need this process.
If you want to Bake:
. Heat oven 180-200 degree Celsius.
. Place the skewers tray and bake in the pre-heated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the juice runs out dry and the chicken is done, turning them around in between.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves, onion rings and lemon wedges.
